Getting Started with Analyze Portfolio

Learn how to create your account, set up your first portfolio, and start tracking your investments in minutes.

Welcome to Analyze Portfolio

Analyze Portfolio tracks what you own and shows you what those companies actually report to the SEC. It covers portfolios in multiple currencies, filing-grounded research, and performance and risk analytics. Here is how to get started.

1. Create Your Account

Visit the registration page and sign up with your email address. You will start on the Free plan, which includes portfolios, a watchlist, price alerts, full analytics, and one filing-grounded Equity Research answer to try. Premium unlocks the research layer.

2. Create Your First Portfolio

After signing in, you will land on the Dashboard. Click "New Portfolio" to get started. Give your portfolio a name (e.g., "US Growth" or "Retirement Fund") and select a base currency. The base currency determines how your total portfolio value is displayed.

3. Add Your Holdings

Once your portfolio is created, click "Add Position" and enter a ticker symbol (e.g., AAPL, NVDA, MSFT). Enter the number of shares and your average cost per share. If you leave the cost blank, the current market price will be used.

There is also a purchase date, and it is worth filling in. Without it we assume you have held those shares for the whole period shown, so your performance and risk figures are reconstructed rather than tracked, and dividends you may never have received are left out of your income total. Leave it blank if you genuinely do not know: a guessed date produces history that looks real. You can add one later from the holdings table.

4. Explore Your Dashboard

Your dashboard shows an overview of all portfolios, including total value, daily changes, and a ticker strip of your top holdings. Click any portfolio card to open it.

5. Set Up Your Watchlist

Navigate to the Stocks Watchlist section to track stocks you are interested in but have not yet purchased. You can organize items into groups, add notes, and set price alerts.
