About Tennessee Valley Authority

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is a federally created corporate agency that operates the largest public power system in the United States. It generates and sells electricity primarily to local power companies, municipalities, cooperatives, large commercial and industrial customers, and federal agencies within a seven-state service area in the southeastern U.S. TVA also manages the Tennessee River system for navigation, flood control, recreation, and environmental stewardship.
