Two Ways to Search
Analyze Portfolio offers two search modes, accessible from the Search page or Theme Search in the sidebar.
Theme Search
Type a theme, industry, or company name like "semiconductor companies" or "beverages" and the covered universe is matched deterministically: by industry, sector, company name, and each company's own business description from its SEC filings. You can also ask for a company's peers, like "peers of NVDA" or "competitors to AMT": this lists the largest covered companies in the same industry group (or sector, when no curated industry group exists), which is a classification grouping, not a claim that the companies compete. The same query returns the same list for every user. Results include:
- Ticker symbol and company name
- The company's one-line business description
- A query-match score (how well the company matches your search, not an investment rating)
- Current price and daily change
- Whether the stock is already in your portfolio or watchlist
Search matches objective criteria only. It does not rank stocks as best or safest, and for numeric filters (P/E, market cap, margins) the Screener is the precise tool.
Direct Symbol Lookup
Switch to "Direct" mode and enter a ticker symbol for an instant quote lookup. This is useful when you already know the stock you want to check.
Stock search
Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) anywhere in the dashboard, or tap Search, to look up a company by ticker or name. A result opens that company’s overview page; the Generate AI research option runs an AI research report instead (grounded in SEC filings when the company’s filings are indexed).
